These hot summer days in the south are almost unbearable! Lightweight dresses are a great way to stay cool in these scorching temps! Here are a couple of my fave dresses for the summer!

Have I mentioned how much I absolutely adore and love my handsome nephew! My sister had to go out of town this past week and since her husband has to be to work way early, the grandparents and I got the honor of looking after this little man! He enjoyed playing in the sprinkler and taking a dip in his pool (he thought his lawnmower would enjoy it too!) 

 

 

On another note, I had to make an early morning Saturday trip to Target for some necessities so Starbucks was definitely a must have!

 

Oh, and if you don't know right now Starbucks is giving out their treat receipts until Aug 18! If you show your receipt from your same day purchase, you can enjoy a $2 grande cold beverage after 2 pm! I've already taken advantage of this and tried their new Valencia Orange Refresher. Can you say DELISH! Anyways, I hope everyone has had a great weekend and has an even greater week!

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll notice that my outfit posts (which are few and far between during the work week) are typically casual looking. The reason being is that I work at a preschool so dressing up is not very practical. My work attire usually consists of khakis, tees and flats or tennis shoes. On another note, can I say enough of the rain already! In the surrounding areas and where I live, we have seen tons of rain. This is a pic taking in my parent's backyard on Thursday evening. We got 2 in of rain in less than an hour! It is crazy how much rain we have gotten over the past month. Some areas have even experienced some flooding!

 

Our lake is above full pool (something we haven't seen in years) and so is the river. On Thursday, the Army Corp of Engineers tested the flood gates on the Strom Thurmond Dam. I didn't get a chance to see it in person but I enjoyed seeing other people's pictures and videos of the event. Here's a picture taken by the local news station.

July 4th Weekend Fun

As you can see I'm a little behind on my blog posts so in order to catch up I'm doing 3 posts! I celebrated July 4th at the lake and unfortunately I had to work Friday but was able spend the weekend at the lake with my family! Here a few pics from the holiday weekend!

We enjoyed a morning boat ride on Saturday! I'm so glad and thankful that the weather held up!

 

My nephew and cousin loved looking over the front of the boat!

 

On Saturday evening we said a prayer that the storm would pass over and went to see the fireworks at Raysville Marina. I must say it was one of the best shows I have ever seen! They even had parachute fireworks (how cool is that!)

 

I hope everyone enjoyed their July 4th holiday weekend and got to do something fun and exciting!

Beach Fun, Family & Fashion

I had so much fun at the beach with my family this past week. I can't remember the last time I have been at the beach for a full week with just about the entire side of my dad's family for that matter! It was so surreal and I enjoyed every minute of it. In fact, I didn't want to leave! Here are a few pics from my vaca!

I'm going to be an Aunt again! I'm so excited for my sister and brother-in-law and can't wait to welcome my niece or nephew into the world! The estimated date of arrival is February 5!
